COVER CROPS: Vineyards, Christmas Trees, orchards, blueberries, in field nursery stock, and cane berries all benefit from cover crops to stop soil erosion, suppress weeds, increase water percolation, add nitrogen and create a clean work platform for people and machinery. Cover crops, including Aurora Gold and Soil Guard, are planted between the crop rows to provide these benefits. These low growing cover crops reqire less maintenance and save money when compared to controling weeds on bare dirt. Some cover crops can even be sprayed "over the top" with low to moderate rates of Round-up to kill broadleaf weeds and annual grasses without damage to the cover crop.
